Magellan's Maps Submission

Name- Briaj's War
Players- 3 human, 1 big bad computer
Difficulty- Normal
Size- Large (But half is an ocean, so it feels smaller)
Known Bug- It's possible to avoid the "elven raiders"
events if you know where they are. (If you
           don't know what I'm talking about, that's
GOOD. Now go play the scenario!)

This is an interesting scenario to play, with a
storyline to go along with it. The old king of the
human empire has died, leaving his bigoted son Briaj to
rule. Since he dosen't like things he can't understand,
he has outlawed all magic above 1st level and asked for
a personal crusade to eliminate the annoying elves (and
allies). The mages of the south decide not to submit,
and gain the support of the poor swamp residents of the
southwest. Meanwhile, the elves prepare for war in the
east. The unconquered barbarians of the southeast do
not care either way and stay totally neutral, as Briaj
begins to build his mighty armies...
This is a good "grand strategy" map. There are
several ways to get most places, and the Empire has
cleared most roads of monsters, so you only have to
concentrate on knocking out real bad guys most of the
time. Also, if you dawdle in conquering Briaj's
empire, the purple necromancers show up in their boats
and start taking towns and teleporting everywhere,
slowing your victory march.

Tips below! Don't read unless stuck!

TIPS AND HINTS- Since Briaj outproduces you,
you have to pounce on his castles fast. Take over your
mines, collect most of you garrisons into one super
army, upgrade to vet/master/ranger, and march north,
wreaking havoc on Briaj's towns without a hero in them.
If you're playing as the elves, flag your mines, build
more structures, get the 1st week growth, THEN attack
west. Try not to mess with the other magic-using nation
until Briaj's defeat is in sight or they attack your
homeland. As usual, send reinforcements to the front
while building your structures back at home. When the
southern continent starts getting mopped up, send your
best hero northeast to visit the desert island Xanadu
and then head west to crush the purple necromancers.
Finding the Ultimate Artifact early helps considerably
in your quest.
